We are proud and excited that last year we brought WEN California to women across the energy sector in our great state!  I look forward to the opportunity to connect and empower women in all areas of the energy-value chain.  

California operates at the forefront of the opportunities and challenges that make the energy industry one of the most exciting, intellectually stimulating, and important areas of economic opportunity. Access to energy is perhaps the single greatest differentiator in terms of lifting people out of poverty and improving lives.  California’s women professionals both have much to offer and stand to benefit from belonging to an organization like WEN.  

With the diversity of energy sources and broad range of professionals in the energy field in California, I was very excited when California women in the sector launched the California Chapter.  Since our launch in mid-2021, we received an overwhelming initial response from women throughout the state who have validated the need for and enthusiastically supported the formation of this organization. 

Our vision is for WEN California to serve its members by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and coaching to help advance women as individuals and as a group in the field of energy in California.  Whether a woman works in conventional or renewable energy, for a company, the government, nonprofit, or academia, we welcome all who are interested in progressing their own knowledge and developing meaningful professional relationships in the energy field.  

We sit at an incredibly exciting time as energy producers, distributors, and consumers re-envision the roles they play in ensuring a sustainable energy system that includes a broad mix of energy sources.  

And, as we emerge from the pandemic and full lockdown into a hybrid world, we want to ensure our members can connect and network in ways that make them feel simultaneously safe and engaged.  We are planning in-person, virtual, and hybrid events across broad range of programs—all for the benefit of our members.  Look forward to high level industry leading speakers and engaging roundtables!  Our ambition is to bring women from across the industry together to build a community that shares, supports, nurtures, elevates, and empowers all of us.  

Our Board of Directors stands committed to establishing and growing WEN California and to helping all members benefit and find meaningful ways to connect by providing diverse events and programming designed to educate, elevate, and empower all the women who participate.
