Colorado President's Message
Updated May 2024
Welcome to Women’s Energy Network Colorado, we’re glad you’re here!
Over my 7 years working in the energy space, I have found a home within the WEN network and am endlessly inspired by the women (and men!) I interact with at our events. This organization has blessed me with lifelong friends and industry connections that continue to help me grow both professionally and personally. For those reasons, I am honored to serve as your 2024 Women’s Energy Network Colorado President.
WENCO recognizes the importance of developing our members both personally and professionally. By providing opportunities for networking, mentorship, and professional growth with our WENCO Wednesday events (normally the last Wednesday of the month), we aim to help our members in the industry reach their full potential. We believe that when we are equipped with the tools and resources that we need to succeed, we can have a profound impact on our industry. As a result of this mission, we have provided educational opportunities for female high school graduates who are going on to pursue an education in STEM. To that end, we’re dedicated to expanding the number of women who receive scholarships this year. This is a crucial step in helping to create a more diverse and inclusive pipeline into our Energy industry. By providing these opportunities, we’re not only helping to bridge the gender gap in STEM but are also inspiring young women to follow their passions.
While we're advised to stay 6 feet apart during COVID, I am challenging our membership to lean into this year’s theme, 6 Feet Closer: Thriving in Community. Growing and maintaining our networks is essential to each of our successes as we navigate through both our work careers and personal lives. Let’s expand those networks together! If you are new here, please reach out to me via email or LinkedIn. I’d be happy to hop on a phone call or grab a coffee to tell you more about our organization and answer any questions.
I look forward to seeing you at our events this year and welcome you into our WENCO network and community!
Haley Mitchell
