Dear WENH Members,

It is my distinct pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you in 2024 as the newly elected President of Women Energy Network Houston (“WENH”). I am honored and thrilled to step into this leadership role and continue my journey with WENH, which has been nothing short of transformative. Beginning as a member and assuming diverse roles of volunteer, committee member, committee chair, board member and President Elect has shaped my personal and professional experience profoundly.

In the coming days, weeks, and months, I look forward to engaging with each of you and collaborating with our outstanding members of the Board of Directors, volunteers, mentors, sponsors, corporate members, and partnerships to create a robust platform that provides opportunities and resources to our membership for personal and professional growth.

In 2023, we transitioned to a new platform, Glue Up, and enhanced our marketing efforts improving our communication with members and connecting with you in a meaningful way through streamlined operations and outreach. In 2023, we had 40 touchpoints of connection through our programming: 16 educational luncheons, three signature networking events and fireside chats, two mentoring workshops , nine mentoring circle gatherings, six executive member events, an executive member retreat, YWE scholarship reception award event and YWE conference. We booked 18 exceptional speakers and 28 mentors contributed their time to our mentoring program. Our mentoring program had 230 attendees and we awarded $75,000 in scholarships to STEM students at our annual YWE scholarship reception.

As we step into the new year, our main objective will be to boost our brand recognition and optimize visibility of our programming platform and events within our membership and community. Through robust and meaningful outreach efforts across various platforms and channels, we aim to amplify our outreach by making our mission and activities more widely recognized and resonating with a broader community and new audiences.
 

In the past year, the unwavering support of our members and growing enthusiasm for our initiatives was demonstrated by making many of our luncheons and events sold out well in advance, signifying a strong appetite for the content and experiences we offer within our community. In 2024, we will continue to build on this momentum by exploring innovative event formats, expanding our capacity, and implementing strategic promotional campaigns to ensure that more members can actively participate and benefit from our various programs.

I encourage each of you to actively participate in our events, engage with fellow members, and contribute your unique perspectives to our discussions. Your voice is invaluable, and together, we will make a lasting impact on our community.
