Program Description
The Women’s Energy Network of North Texas (“WEN North Texas”) is pleased to promote the WEN North Texas Scholarship Program (“Scholarship Program”) as a demonstration of our commitment to encourage students who are pursuing careers in energy and support the industry’s need for top talent in the future.
About the Scholarship Program
WEN North Texas will award four (4) scholarships of $5000 each to female, undergraduate or graduate students from North Texas with exemplary academic records, demonstrated leadership potential, and an intent to pursue a career in energy. Scholarships will be awarded based on the WEN North Texas scholarship committee’s assessment of the applicant’s leadership and professional potential.

Scholarship recipients demonstrate a strong interest in a career in energy and provide thoughtful essay responses. Additionally, scholarship recipients will be paired with a WEN North Texas mentor who can offer career advice to support scholars as they prepare to enter the energy profession.

The application deadline is April 1, 2024.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited four-year university or accredited two-year community college in the Fall of 2024 as a full-time student with the intent to enter the energy industry. Matriculating scholarship awardees may re-apply for the scholarship each year they are enrolled in an eligible academic program provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
Application Submission Package
The application will include the following key components:
- Major / Field of Study
- Cumulative GPA & Transcripts
- Extracurricular Activities & Service
- Essay Questions (2)
- Letter of Recommendation
Notification and Presentation of Award
Winners will be contacted by the Charitable Funds Director in late April and will be acknowledged at the WEN North Texas luncheons in Dallas and Fort Worth in June 2024. A letter of acceptance, proof of registration, and payment instructions from the college or university must be presented to the scholarship panel prior to disbursement of awards in Fall 2024.
